MERCURY
A floating, skinnable remote for the Spotify app on your Mac.

HEADS UP
Mercury is a vibe-coded project. We designed it and built it with AI, and it runs well on
our Macs, but its code hasn't been reviewed by a professional developer. It's free and
comes as is, with no warranty or support, so please use it at your own discretion.

WHAT YOU NEED
- A Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or newer (Apple silicon or Intel).
The visualizer and the EQ need macOS 14.2 or newer; everything else works without them.
- The Spotify app for Mac, installed and signed in. Spotify does the playing; Mercury is the remote.

INSTALL
1. Drag Mercury.app into your Applications folder.
2. Open it. The first time, macOS blocks it because it isn't from the App Store or a
registered developer. Close that message, open System Settings > Privacy & Security,
scroll down, and click "Open Anyway" next to Mercury. Open it once more and confirm.
3. Two questions come up. Click OK / Allow on both:
   - "Mercury wants to control Spotify" (play, pause, skip, volume)
   - "Mercury would like to record audio from other apps" (only so the visualizer can hear
Spotify; nothing is recorded or saved)

USING IT
- Open the library (the eject button, or press L). It opens on your SHELF.
- Drag playlists, albums, songs or artists onto the shelf from the Spotify app. Or in Spotify
click ... > Share > Copy link, then PASTE LINK. + NOW PLAYING keeps the song that's playing.
- Click anything on the shelf to play it. Drop a Spotify link anywhere else on the player to
  play it straight away.
- Right-click the player for skins, always-on-top, the menu bar mode and quitting.
- Scroll over the player for volume. Drag the corner grip to make it bigger.
